Laneige Delights Pop Holiday Collection 2017

There are many reasons to love the year-end Holiday launches. And limited edition shades and value-for-money deals are just a few of them. Laneige’s year-end collection for 2017 ticks all the right boxes. First up, you get a good deal. Like this Holiday Sleeping Mask Set ($39): A set of three mini sleeping mask jars for plump skin. Next, the colours are pretty. Case in point: The Holiday Ideal Shadow Quad – Flash Gold Pop (S$42) : Sparkly and pearlescent eyeshadow for the office and drinks. Holiday Cushion Blusher – Roly Pink Pop (S$32): For an airbrushed flush and glow. Holiday Two Tone Tint Lip Bar – No.1 Lovely Pop and No.2 Chic Pop (S$32 each): Laneige’s signature two-tone lip bar, infused with its Lip Sleeping Mask ingredients to keep the pout moisturised and hydrated. The two looks that you can create from this set of makeup are wearable for both the boardroom and that Tinder date. Available at all Laneige stores, Lazada and Zalora. Photos: Laneige

Laneige Time Freeze Essence EX and Intensive Cream EX

When you’ve had a late night and have to wake early (and look alive), all you need is skincare that would plump up and smoothen the skin immediately before makeup application. Laneige’s Time Freeze Essence Ex (S$90) and Intensive Cream EX (S$95) seem to do just that. The Essence is a viscous serum which feels like a lightweight day moisturiser. Containing hyaluronic acid, it quickly adds a layer of satin smoothness and suppleness to the skin. Thus creating a perfect smooth base for foundation application. The Intensive Cream is best used on drier skin. The rich water-and-oil formula boosts the absorption rate, keeps skin moisturised for longer while smoothening the appearance of fine lines immediately. Good as a night cream as well. Add these to your bag of quick skincare-fixes for the Morning After.

Laneige Ideal Shadow Quad and Blush Duo

Laneige has proven that while it may be a K Beauty brand that (like most Korean beauty exports) focuses more on its skincare options, it can hold its own with colour cosmetics too. The new Laneige Ideal Shadow Quad ($42 each) is now available in 10 palettes, from a risque red-themed quartet named No.10 Red Fox Fur, and pretty masala-hued No.7 Rosebay Garden to handy matte neutrals like No.6 Soft Powder. The powders are fine and smooth, easy to blend and layer with moderate pigment power; just the way most Asian women prefer it. The Laneige Ideal Blush Duo collection ($39 each) also features a cute peach and mint blush palette, literally named No.2 Peach Mint. The mint shade looks translucent on skin, brightens and mattifies. No.4 California Coral is a pretty peachy duo; while the No.6 Wood Blossom is perfect for subtle contouring (again, subtlety is always key for Laneige). Laneige BB Cushion Crystal Edition with Xirius Swarovski Crystals

So many years ago, the Laneige BB Cushion was the first ever cushion I fell for. It was easy to use and so convenient for touch-ups on-the-go, and gave my skin a beautiful glow. Now, I’m falling for it all over again, especially when it is blinged-up with super sparkly Swarovski Crystals. Watch the video below and check it out yourself. Available in the Whitening and Pore Control versions, that offer light to medium coverage, a cooling sensation, and give skin a healthy glow. $59 each, and in three shades. Buy it from Laneige boutiques.

Laneige Fresh Calming Morning Mask

Once again, Laneige proves that it is ahead of the beauty game. The brand launched its best-selling Water Sleeping Mask in 2002, so women too busy living their lives can indulge in a fuss-free leave-on mask.  This summer, it launches its new Fresh Calming hydrating range, featuring a “Morning Mask”. More than just another mask with a catchy moniker, the Morning Mask is a first with its texture and formula. Dispensed through a pump can, it is a relatively viscous mousse emulsion that envelops skin in a cushiony gel. It sinks into skin with a few minutes of massaging.  I was really impressed with the texture. Besides the dense foamy facial wash of Japanese brands, I’ve never tried anything else quite like this Morning Mask. Moisturising and soothing, it is a multi-tasking all-day mask and moisturiser that prepares skin for makeup. I also tried using this as a night mask, and it worked just as fine. The next morning, my skin looked clearer, and matte; signs that show it is balanced. The Fresh Calming Morning …

The palettes to invest in, now

Besides the awesome new BeautyKiller palette by Jeffree Star, here are the other face combo boxes you should consider investing in at the moment. Like Star’s, the other two palettes that caught my eye on social media (as they were trending like crazy), are created by self-styled Youtube gurus who hit the jackpot. There’s the Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. I don’t know Jaclyn Hill, but her gorgeous and literally gleaming face palette caught my eye online and in the store. Made for that ethereal, healthy glow, the compact features five shades inspired by delicious bubbly: Pamplemousse – A deep coral pink blush with subtle gold flecks Amaretto – A tan-terracotta blush Rose Spritz – A rosegold-bronzey confection with iridescent shimmer Champagne Pop – A crisp, gold-based highlighter with iridescent shimmer Prosecco Pop – A slightly frostier highlighter with iridescent shimmer Comes in a beautiful, hefty, gold-speckled casing. Quick tips for using this palette and highlighters in general: To avoid looking greasy and sweaty when wearing highlighters, avoid the T-zone and chin areas, where …

#Kfever: Laneige makeup on Descendants of The Sun

It’s happening again. The new K drama Descendants of The Sun has everyone’s eyes strained from watching too much TV.  According to news reports, Descendants has been played more than 670 million times on Chinese video site iQiyi. This new K drama is clearly on its way to surpassing the popularity of the red-hot drama of yester-year, My Love From The Stars. The winning formula is there, as usual.  Man and woman meet.  Man and woman fall in love. Man and woman pretend to not be in love with each other. Man and woman argue. Man and woman fall out. Man and woman meet again in a strange land. The story continues. Add to the mix a hunky baby-faced South Korean actor (this time round, it’s Song Joong-ki), and Kimchi Land’s fave actress (Song Hye Gyo).    Ms Song happens to be the face of Laneige, the flagship label of K Beauty superpower Amorepacific.  And so naturally, you get special makeup appearances 💄💄💄  While prepping for her first date, the female lead whips out …   …

Laneige Two-tone Lip Bar

This is the most fun lipstick I have seen in awhile. Laneige’s new Two-tone Lip Bars let you have those ombre sunset effect lips in a jiffy. There are around ten shades available, and this one is obviously my fave. (Anything bright is my default choice.) I treated the colour of the picture above…so here is a more accurate depiction of this gorgeous shade called Neon Juice. It is reddish-orange and a pretty pink. With one slick, this is the effect you will get. If you want the brighter shade to be on the outside, and the lighter one on the inside, you just have to slick on the rectangular-shaped lipstick bullet accordingly. Run, and get it now.
