The latest launches and announcements from the beauty industry

Kiehl’s Marks 170th Anniversary

Started out as a go-to apothecary of the neighbourhood in a street corner of New York in 1851, to say Kiehl’s has come a long way is, an understatement. To celebrate its 170th Anniversary milestone, the illustrious skincare label churns out a limited edition series of old-favourites. We’re particularly enamoured with the Heritage Rosewater Toner, which smells heavenly, and feels gentle yet refreshing. We’re petitioning for it to be made a constant in the collection. Also look out for the Essence Oils, named after the moods we all want to be in: Love Luring (jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang), Fortune Seeking (citrus and white tea), Jinx Removing (vetiver and sandalwood). The crowd-favourites come in classic limited edition white and gold jars and bottles. Because the Kiehl’s bestsellers always deserve some space in your skincare cabinet. Afterall, they’ve got 170 years to prove it.

YSL Beaute Le Encre De Peau Cushion 2020

French beauty brand YSL Beaute’s takes the definition of the luxe beauty accesory to a whole other level with its new cushion foundation. The Le Encre De Peau Cushion Foundation is emblazoned with the signature metallic YSL logo set on a buttery soft black leather chevron base. It’d look perfect right next to the luxury label’s iconic leather bags and heels. The formula of this cushion foundation has also been reformulated for a brightening matte finish that is lightweight for buildable longlasting coverage. Available in 8 shades, at S$102 per piece.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette

Picks from Sephora Spring 2020

As usual, here are The Beauty Gazette‘s picks from Sephora’s new and upcoming goodies that are hitting shelves. First up, its the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette by yet another social media star. ABH has been very successful with its consistent stream of limited edition palettes designed and curated by beauty influencers. We like this palette’s easy-to-wear shades with just the right amount of classic colours that complement the dramatic ones.

The lovely and rejuvenating natural scents of the formulas will make your beauty routine a true pleasure. Charlotte Tilbury Lands in Sephora Singapore

The glamorous makeup line of Hollywood celebrity face artist Charlotte Tilbury is now available in Sephora Singapore. The collection is famous for the lustrous glow it brings to the skin; as well as the special makeup sets that contain everything one needs for a decadently delicious makeup look. The eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, blush and contour palettes are the brand’s bestsellers. Charlotte also takes care of the skin. The Magic Cream she used to whip up backstage on movie sets to perk and nourish the skin of the actors, is now bottled for you. Here, a few peeks at Charlotte Tilbury’s recent Sephora launch party.

Christian Louboutin Beauty launches in Singapore

Luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin is known for his ostentatious red-soled shoes inspired by the showgirls he has always admired. To complement his embellished stiletto offerings, Louboutin launched his beauty label in 2014 with lipsticks and nail polish for the woman who has everything. The over-the-top makeup packaging – with its weapon-like spike handle, bejewelled caps and gilded finish – give the products a collector’s item status. Prices match the form too: a lipstick costs $142. Beauty junkies in Singapore know what they want, and Louboutin Beauty is clued in. In June, it launched its first beauty counter in the city at Tangs Orchard, and it looks like a decadently delicious Parisian Boudoir of a femme fatale.

Saturday Skin: For skin as great as the weekends come

When you come across the girly, pastel-coloured packaging of beauty brand Saturday Skin on Sephora Singapore’s bright and shiny shelves, you wouldn’t be faulted for thinking: Just another one made to catch the Millennial’s eye? With its snappy font and unassuming branding, Saturday Skin belies its serious and traditional South Korean heritage. The origins of the brand stem from the Chaum Wellness Centre, which is probably the best-kept beauty and wellness secret of the creme de la creme of Korean society. Chaum is known for combining the latest anti-ageing technologies (that tap on anything from gene analytics to stem cell-banking) with traditional Korean medicine techniques, to improve the quality of its clients’ lives and of course, their beauty. Clearly, the fees at Chaum are pricey. Apparently, membership fees start at US$55,000 a year, and a sculpting and lymphatic massage can go up to US$1,000 per session. But thankfully for you and me, you could get your hands on some of the goodness from Chaum at Sephora. Founded by beauty industry veteran Sidney Beck, Saturday Skin’s formulas are made …

Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette

The latest eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay’s uber iconic Naked range, is Cherry. Cooler in tone with plums and pinks, it is complemented by neutrals from beige to a milky brown. The shades are generally more subtle than the last Naked Heat palette, thus more suitable for everyday looks. For those with smaller Asian eyes, line and gently blend the pinks on the upper and lower lash line to softly define eyes. See the swatches here.
