Clarins Calm Essentiel

If like us, your skin acts up as you wear a protective face mask for long hours (to be a responsible citizen during the pandemic), Clarins is offering you a skincare option. To help calm sensitive skin, its latest Calm Essentiel range is made with clary sage, known for its soothing and healing properties. The Redness Corrective Gel is lightweight and has a hint of light green to even out redness on the face. Wear it under foundation as a multi-tasking primer. The Soothing Emulsion is skin-plumpingly moisturising, and easily absorbed. While the Restoring Treatment Oil is a calming face oil to be layered on top of th moisturiser if you need that extra boost. Otherwise, warm a couple of drops between your palms and press directly onto clean skin before bedtime.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil Intense

Yes, with all the protective mask-wearing when you are outside during this pandemic, why would you need another lip product? But don’t forget about that Zoom/ Microsoft Teams/ Face Time session where you could still put on a nice lippie. So Clarins’ new Lip Comfort Oil Intense is what we’d recommend. It is formulated after the brand’s popular Lip Comfort Oil which keeps the lips hydrated, moisturised, and glossy with plant oils. But with a shot of intense colour added to make a liquid lipstick formula that is bright, lightweight, and skin-plumping with a sheen. The applicator of the Lip Comfort Oil Intense – which looks like an eyeshadow sponge applicator – also just picks up the right amount of product, so the application is even, precise, and so easy. The colours – available in eight shades of reds, pinks and nudes – are also bright and nicely opaque, even with just one sheer layer. See how it works, here.

Clarins Limited Edition White Flowers Collection

To add a little luxury to your summer skincare routine, Clarins has rolled out a limited edition range of products themed on white flowers. The Hand and Nail Treatment (S$15 each) is available in three scents: Magnolia, Neroli, and Jasmine. While the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (S$33) which deeply moisturises lips and gives it a glossy shine, is available in a pretty rosy pearlescent finish that brightens the natural lip colour. Perfumed with neroli, the Catch-Light Face Highlighter (S$36) comes in a stick form and is easy to use for extra glow on the cheekbones, brow bones, decolletage and cupid’s bow.

Clarins Hydra-Essential: Skin quenchers to start 2018 right

Dehydrated skin always looks tired, dull, and lined. Plumping it up with moisture is that one thing you can do to make skin look more youthful, immediately. According to Clarins’ research on the skin, it is exposed to sudden changes in temperature and humidity everyday; on the commute, air-conditioning, rainy days, even post-gym. This “shocks” the skin, and it ends up dehydrated if it is not replenished with the right levels of moisture. To keep skin supple and hydrated throughout, Clarins’ new Hydra-Essentiel range contains organic Leaf of Life, an organic succulent herb with antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Sourced from the Jardins du Monde in Madagascar, the organic and fair trade Leaf of Life supposedly keeps the skin’s moisture level optimal through the “shocks”. The Hydra-Essentiel Intensive Bi-Phase Serum is a watery formula that sinks easily into the skin. I find that it plumps up skin immediately, making it look brighter and firmer. For best results (especially for those with normal to combination skin), use it with the Hydra-Essentiel Cooling Gel to seal in …

TBG Interview: Tips for glowing skin by Jenna Courtin-Clarins

While most girls growing up would get their beauty and fitness advice from their mothers or grandmothers, Jenna Courtin-Clarins received tips on how to stay moisturised, healthy and toned from her grandfather. But that is not surprising; given that he is Jacques, founder of the French beauty company Clarins, who started out as a masseur selling body treatment oils from his salon in 1954. Trained in design and photography in Paris, Jenna took on the role of Prospective and New Concepts Manager at Clarins in 2015. “It is so difficult for me to work for anyone else; it is impossible because I’m incredibly proud of Clarins,” said the affable and athletic heiress who was in Singapore to officially launch the brand’s new boutique at Ion Orchard last Friday. The Beauty Gazette sat down with Jenna – decked out in a sexy monochromatic slit-dress by the Clarins-owned Mugler, no less – for a quick tete-a-tete on her role at Clarins, and tried-and-tested beauty regime. Tell us about your earliest memories of your grandfather. My sister and …

TBG Makeup Picks 2017

As 2017 draws to an end, The Beauty Gazette looks back at the makeup launches that made our hearts flutter and emptied our purses. Click on the links for the deets. In 2017, @Badgalriri (popstar Rihanna for the uninitiated) launched her makeup collection after toying with the idea for years after the limited edition pieces she created with M.A.C in 2013. The on-trend Millennial-pink, and for-every-skin-tone marketing strategy hit the jackpot, and blew every other new masstige makeup brand launch this year out of the water. A high protection tinted suncream that evens out the skin tone with a porcelain finish, and glow. Wear it on its own or as a foundation primer. Smooth, blendable texture; good pigment, beautiful shades that all match in one palette. Not surprising that this is always sold out. This luxurious cushion gives skin a lovely soft-matte glow. It has a unique liquid-to-powder texture for a satiny, lightweight finish. Because who doesn’t love Tom Ford’s decadently luxurious lipsticks? These are sheer, but still sexy, moisturising, dreamily smooth to apply, and …

Clarins Multi-Active Range Review

Concocted for the busy over-achiever, Clarins’ new Multi-Active range is blended with potent botanical extracts and antioxidants for maximum skin-regenerating effect.  What we’re really impressed with at first touch are the comfortable and soothing textures of the new moisturisers in the Multi-Active day and night collection. Each feels cocooning and cushiony on the skin, wrapping it in moisture and goodness. These formulas target fine lines and other early signs of ageing. Multi-Active Jour for normal to combination skin is a light gel cream. Contains encapsulated teasel for targeted performance, as well as myrothamnus extract for its water-retaining property. Multi-Active Jour for normal to dry skin has a richer, soothing gel-cream texture. Multi-Active Nuit for normal to combination skin is a light creme made with the same encapsulated teasel, and ginger lily that stimulates the synthesis of collagen. The formula for drier skin is richer, but does not leave a cloying film on the surface of the skin. These moistuisers leave my skin generally brighter and clearer; and hydrated for longer. I find that I get …
