While there is nothing wrong with looking your age, being able to mature gracefully is a quality that most aspire to but few possess.
One trick is to take extra care of the areas (apart from the face, of course) that give away the age of a woman who may otherwise look youthful: the back of the hands, the eye area, and the oft-neglected neck and décolletage.
Lines that ring the neck and décolletage are notoriously difficult, or almost impossible, to get rid of.
So prevention – if lucky you, lines have not appeared – is always better; otherwise, maintenance is always a good idea.
Clarins has launched two new products to treat the neck and décolletage.
The Super Restorative Instant lift Serum Mask (S$160 for a box of five) is a pulpy and stretchy biodegradable paper mask with loops for the ears, and flaps that soak the entire neck area in the serum-goodness. These extra loops and flaps also mean you can wear this mask while standing up and going about your chores.
The mask is made with organic harungana extract to tone skin, nourishing shea oil, as well as oat sugars to plump skin, and horse chestnut extract to boost micro-circulation.
Leave on for 15 minutes for a quick pampering session. The mask left my skin nicely supple and relatively tightened for the rest of the day.
Complementing this sheet mask is the Super Restorative Decollete and Neck Concentrate (S$183). While this cooling gel moisturiser is formulated for women in their 50s to tighten slackened skin and lighten spots; it works well to maintain the necks of younger women. Easily absorbed with a fresh floral scent, it contains organic harungana and Montpellier Rock-rose extracts to firm and plump skin.
I’m in my 30s, and this concentrate works well for me too; it reduces the appearance of the fine lines on my neck immediately, thanks to the oat sugars that smoothen the skin.
Perfect for this holiday season in tropical Singapore where I intend to wear plenty of off-shoulder dresses.
