Tom Ford Boys and Girls lipsticks

And they’re here. Tom Ford’s annual limited edition Lips & Boys extravaganza has been kicked up a notch with a collection of 50 Girls shades. Of course, they are inspired by his favourite girls such as Isamaya, Isla, Naomi and Scarlett. These shades are less pigmented than the ones in the Boys range. They are more sheer and translucent for everyday looks. Some can even be worn as a topper for a metallic sheen. Like the translucent Lily, sheer blue Isamaya, light purple Violet and bronze Amber; which lend the lips a luxurious finish. If you want shades that are brighter, go for the coral Isla, orange-red Scarlett, and bright red Naomi. These mini-sized lippies are always sold out quickly, because apart from the fab shades, the formula is moisturising, lustrous, and long-lasting. Pramasana Scalp Treatment at Urbanhair, Tangs Orchard

A healthy and clean scalp gives you lush locks, simple as that. The hair follicles on your scalp are most likely clogged with dead skin cells, product build-up and excess sebum (gross, indeed) if: you use plenty of hairstyling products or heavy conditioners; your hair is often greasy at the roots; your scalp flaky; and a scalp-clarifying shampoo or scalp treatment is foreign to you. An unhealthy scalp could then lead to dandruff, thin and lifeless hair. (This follows the same logic as to why you get clogged pores and acne when you wear plenty of makeup but do not deep-cleanse the skin.) So consider a simple, gentle and effective scalp-balancing treatment like the Pramasana Scalp routine by Aveda at Urbanhair (from $105 for men and $170 for ladies, 60 mins). It takes just an hour, with no gimmickry (we’ve tried enough of those with infrared lights 😑, hot air treatment caps 😧, blood tests 😱, etc. ) The routine begins with a quick shoulder and neck massage, followed by a gentle massaging of the …

Orbis Pore Care

For that #NoFilter #WokeUpLikeThis skin, be prepared for the few extra steps in your beauty routine.  The secret to finer, and tighter pores is simple: cleanliness. According to Orbis’ beauty trainer Yuki Yip, the pores have many important roles in maintaining the health of the skin.  They ensure waste matter (dead skin cells, fats, excess salt, etc.) is excreted from the skin, regulate the body’s temperature, and support the skin’s protection barrier.  To ensure that pores are not clogged, keep skin clean and exfoliated. First, thoroughly remove makeup. When foundation and suncare products are made to be long-lasting, it also means they stick stubbornly to the skin. So use a good makeup remover.  Follow with a facial wash to further remove excess dirt, makeup and sebum.  On days when you want to spend more time cleansing and smoothen the skin, exfoliate to get rid of dead cells on the surface, and use a deep-cleansing mask. Follow with lotion, serum, and moisturiser.  Orbis signature pore care products are formulated to gently cleanse, and exfoliate the skin. …

Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup

Estee Lauder got it right with this foundation. Offering medium coverage, the liquid glides on like melted butter with a satin-matte finish. I layered the Tom Ford Complexion Enhancing Primer underneath, and it stayed on like a dream. After an entire day shopping and a session at the gym, the foundation remained flawless. My pores, and dark circles were camouflaged, and the foundation did not settle into the fine lines under my eyes.  This product comes in a simple screw bottle. It can get a little messy if you are not careful, but  this also means you do not have wasted product stuck in a pump. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Victoria Beckham Estee Lauder’s latest makeup capsule collection

VB’s second collection is just as luxurious as the first. The colours are beautiful, and centred around her signature smokey make-up look. Glowy – but not shiny dewy – skin, softly-lined eyes, and matte/ glossy nude lips. Our picks: The double-ended Eye Kajal (smooth and creamy, staying power 👌🏻); Eye Ink Mascara (love the small brush, perfect for Asian eyes); Skin Perfecting Powder (mattifies and sets); Eye Matte Duo (soft colours); Aura Gloss (moisturising balm).  Watch to see the colours and textures in action.

Cosme Decorte AQMW Eye Crayon

These eye crayons are perfect for those who hate skinny pencil eyeliners that need to be sharpened. These chubby crayons offer a better grip, and are retractable.  These lightweight formulas are best used on the water line for a subtle definition so eyes look larger and prettier. They are not suited for bold and defined looks. Long-lasting with fine shimmer, these crayons are everyday essentials for making the peepers look brighter in a jiffy.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Light Lipstick

Described as luminous and hydrating, Make Up For Ever isn’t lying about its new range of Artist Rouge Light lipsticks. Said it before and we’ll say it again. Make Up For Ever makes some of the best lippies out there. This new range that is made for the woman who prefers to wear her makeup colours lightly but beautifully, (or just for subtle makeup days) does not disappoint. The Artist Rouge Light Lipstick goes on translucent but with a clear and even colour; in two to three coats.  Application is smooth and easy; feels moisturising but not cloting or sticky.  Lightweight with a super glossy finish. Love. TBG picks: L206, a bright berry fuchsia; L500, a dusky sexy rose nude; and L501, a deep aubergine. Swatches here and here.

Skin Inc Serum-Infused Night Oil

To complement its serums and masks, Skin Inc has launched its own dual water-and-oil formula. To lock moisture into the skin and protect it, the Serum-Infused Night Oil (S$98) contains lavender essential oil, Japanese yuzu seed oil, olive oil, as well as Vitamins A, B12, C, E and amino acids. The oil is relatively thick and viscous; but with the hydrophilic serum, it smoothes nicely into the skin. Best used at night, cooler climes, or for those with drier skin. You could even mix it into your liquid foundation for extra hydration and glow. The best part about this face oil is how well it blends with the brand’s best-selling Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask to become a thicker gel-emulsion that drenches the skin in moisture.  Watch:

Mamonde Micro Lip & Eye Remover

Infused with the lotus flower extract, the new Mamonde Lip & Eye Remover is a gentle but effective water-based makeup cleanser. It does not strip the skin of oils, and gets rid of long-wearing foundation at the end of the day; especially the pigment stuck around the corner of the eyes. Lightly hydrating and slightly viscous, you could even use this formula as an on-the-go, non-rinse face cleanser. For a more thorough cleansing, try the Triple Multi Cleansing Foam with Iris extract.  This cream cleanser gently exfoliates, with a slightly oily emulsion to get rid of stubborn makeup; but leaves skin squeaky clean. Best used on oily/ combination skin. Mamonde is now available at Sephora Singapore stores.

Clarins Multi-Active Range Review

Concocted for the busy over-achiever, Clarins’ new Multi-Active range is blended with potent botanical extracts and antioxidants for maximum skin-regenerating effect.  What we’re really impressed with at first touch are the comfortable and soothing textures of the new moisturisers in the Multi-Active day and night collection. Each feels cocooning and cushiony on the skin, wrapping it in moisture and goodness. These formulas target fine lines and other early signs of ageing. Multi-Active Jour for normal to combination skin is a light gel cream. Contains encapsulated teasel for targeted performance, as well as myrothamnus extract for its water-retaining property. Multi-Active Jour for normal to dry skin has a richer, soothing gel-cream texture. Multi-Active Nuit for normal to combination skin is a light creme made with the same encapsulated teasel, and ginger lily that stimulates the synthesis of collagen. The formula for drier skin is richer, but does not leave a cloying film on the surface of the skin. These moistuisers leave my skin generally brighter and clearer; and hydrated for longer. I find that I get …
