The waxy brow pencil only dispenses pigments when in contact with skin sebum; so it does not smudge. It is long-wearing and not rubbed off easily.

But the most intriguing thing about this pencil is the way it’s shaved by the experts at the Shu Uemura counter. They want you to use it like a pro.

When you buy it off-the-shelf, it looks like a regular-shaped pencil with a fine, tapered tip.

A tip that is flat on one side…

So it remains really sharp on the other side. With this ‘blade’, you can drawing short, fine strokes to mimic strands of hair for fuller-looking brows is a breeze.

The waxy pencil is hard enough for it to not break easily even when it is shaved into this thin and fragile shape.

I got this in walnut brown 07 to match my light coloured hair.

Unfortunately, you have to go back to the counter and get it shaved. Unless you think you can do this yourself with a pocket knife.
