Power Pairing: Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadow Custom-Create + Step 1 Eye & Lip Primer

Make Up For Ever’s Artist Color Shadows are good investments. The generous value-for-money shades (S$24 each) have good pay-off and minimal flaking. For best results, use the shadows with the brand’s Step 1 Eye & Lip Primer. It is one of the best formulas we’ve ever tried: it smoothens and tightens the lid area, so the eyeshadow won’t skip upon application and blends beautifully. Also makes the colour look more intense and last longer. You could use it as a lip primer too. To get even more Insta-worthy eye makeup, now you can customise your favourite MUFE shades in a palette. Available in five sizes (for a single colour, a duo, and three, six, twelve), palette cases start from S$4. Made of tin, they are simple lightweight, fuss-free, hold just the right amount of eyeshadow, and come with a quality mirror for touch-ups.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Light Lipstick

Described as luminous and hydrating, Make Up For Ever isn’t lying about its new range of Artist Rouge Light lipsticks. Said it before and we’ll say it again. Make Up For Ever makes some of the best lippies out there. This new range that is made for the woman who prefers to wear her makeup colours lightly but beautifully, (or just for subtle makeup days) does not disappoint. The Artist Rouge Light Lipstick goes on translucent but with a clear and even colour; in two to three coats.  Application is smooth and easy; feels moisturising but not cloting or sticky.  Lightweight with a super glossy finish. Love. TBG picks: L206, a bright berry fuchsia; L500, a dusky sexy rose nude; and L501, a deep aubergine. Swatches here and here.

Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Ink Liner and Color Paint

Not for the faint-hearted and wimps, Make Up For Ever’s new eye make-up range is pigmented and made to last through stressful board meetings to sweaty gym sessions. The super long-wear Aqua XL range comprises of the Ink Liner liquid eyeliner and the Color Paint cream eyeshadows. The Ink Liner is a stiff sponge-tipped tapered applicator that is good for bold cat eye flicks, and graphic make-up looks. Each pump picks up enough liquid for a full wing-tip. Start each application from the thickest middle part of the cat eye flick as the applicator picks up quite a bit of liquid; leave the finer details to the end of the stroke. The Color Paint shadows make an awesome base for a super bold smokey eye. Just a teeny tiny bit of the cream shadow can be blended out with fingertips (or MUFE shader brush #226) to cover the entire eye socket area.¬†Alternatively, apply with a stiff angle brush for bold coloured lines. Colour sets well and does not budge once dry. Both the Ink Liner …

Make Up For Ever UV Bright Cushion SPF35

While Make Up For Ever’s colour cosmetics are excellent – rich pigments and long-lasting performance – its base makeup range is pretty good too. Generally, MUFE’s foundations are also long-wearing and evens out the complexion without a cakey-ness. Like every major beauty brand, MUFE now has its own cushion compact foundation, a South Korean invention. Soaked in liquid foundation, the cushion – which pretty much works like an ink pad – offers quick and easy coverage, as compared to a powder or cream compact. The UV Bright Cushion gives skin additional moisture, as well as a broad spectrum sun protection factor of 35 PA +++ (with titanium dioxide which is gentler on easily-irritated skin). It also instantly brightens the complexion with a soft glow and dewiness. Available in five shades, the cushion offers light to medium coverage. With just one pump of the cushion, the applicator picked up enough liquid foundation to cover my entire face. It is also long-lasting. One application in the morning lasted me the entire day in the office, and I …

Make Up For Ever Artist Acrylip

Make Up For Ever’s new Acrylip Lip Paint is a must-have for lipstick junkies who love intense lip colours. Dispensed through an ergonomic felt-tip applicator attached to a squeeze-tube, the pigments of this liquid lipstick pack a punch. So all you need is a tiny bit for a lot of colour. This range of rouge leaves the lips with a satin shine when you spread just a small amount all over lips. If you go all out with a thicker layer and apply it with a lip brush, you get a high-shine acrylic finish. Relatively long-lasting, the Acrylip is non-sticky, non-drying, and opaque in a single coat.

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist

Make Up For Ever is one of my all-time favourite make-up labels. Its high-performance products always deliver.  They are made for well, stage performances, and women who need their cosmetics to last through the day. I haven’t found another brand that can really rival MUFE’s ULTRA HD range which was created for actors, news anchors, beauty bloggers, selfie-lovers so they can look good infront of ultra high definition cameras (which are four times that of full high definition). And its waterproof Aqua range that professional synchronised swimmers swear by? One of the best in the market. French luxury conglomerate Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) knew what it was doing when it decided to buy over the brand from French make-up pro Dany Sanz in 1999. Dany, who founded the brand in her basement in 1984, is still the creative director of the brand. Hence, the continuous stream of fantastic products. Make Up For Ever’s latest offering is a range of 46  Artist Rouge Lipsticks. Why are they special? According the press release, a few factors set …

Make Up For Ever Pro-Sculpting Palette: 4-in-1 Face Contouring Palette

I’m usually not very confident when it comes to using cream contouring products. They seem less forgiving when I make mistakes; as they are often more pigmented than contouring powder, and more difficult to blend. But I gave Make Up For Ever’s new Pro Sculpting Palette a shot, and I love it. The texture is creamy but lightweight, and so easy to blend, with just the right amount of pigment so it is not so scarily intense. The palette comes with four shades. I tried the one in no.20. From left: A nude shade for very fair skin. On my golden-rose Asian skin tone, it looks almost white. So I used it around my eye area to brighten it, clean up the area around my brows, and blend out the eyeshadow. I used the shade with the MUFE brush in no.174 with straight hairs (the middle brush in the pic). The milky brown latte colour is made for sculpting the face. Always pick matte shades for contouring, like this one, so your face would look …
