Mamonde Flower Facial Masks

You’ve probably heard of a perfume wardrobe; but what about a mask wardrobe? Mamonde’s new set of Flower Facial Masks remind us of just that. Available in a variety of textures, these masks have different functions and are each themed with a different bloom. The Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask is concocted with the Evening Primrose and capsule beads for an intensive treatment of dehydrated skin. (The fragrance may be a little too strong for the liking of some though.) While the Calming Hydro Sleeping Mask contains calendula extracts and petals to soothe and moisturise normal skin.  The refreshing floral scent is light and calming. Both sleeping masks – like Laneige’s bestselling Sleeping Masks – have a viscous and refreshing gel texture to seal moisture into the skin while you sleep. There is no need to wash it off till the next morning. As its name suggests, you can sleep through the night (or afternoon nap) with it on. The Petal Purifying Bubble Mask is blended with rose extract, and bubbles upon application on skin to lift …

Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion EX, Multi Cushion Highlighter, and Powder for Cushion launching 2018

Luxury Korean beauty brand Sulwhasoo has upped the ante on its cushion offerings. Come January 2018, it will be launching the second-generation of its bestselling Perfecting Cushion EX that first debuted in 2013. Infused with the subtle fragrance of ginseng (its extracts are a key skincare ingredient), the formula also moisturises with hyaluronic acid-boosting beta glucan and protects with antioxidants. The new Perfecting Cushion EX boasts quick and even fuss-free coverage to give you a more flawless-looking complexion. Each pat of the thin flocked sponge dispenses just the right amount of product on the skin, so you spend less time blending it out. Tip: patting the sponge on skin; instead of gliding it on the skin and pulling it – gives you more coverage and less wrinkles. Coverage is medium to high with a dewy radiance, and long-lasting. The new cushion will also be available in four additional lighter and deeper shades (ivory beige no.17; honey pink no.31, sand beige no.27, and amber beige no.37), bringing the total number to 10.  Both no.37 and no.31 are …

Mamonde Brightening Cover Cushion

K-Beauty Mamonde’s new Brightening Cover Cushion duo are additional options for women who want more out of their cushion compact foundations. The Brightening Cover Powder Cushion is formulated for those who prefer a velvet-matte finish, lightweight, and more coverage. The Cover Fit Puff the Powder Cushion comes with is slightly thicker and more porous, so it picks up more product for buildable coverage that mattifies skin at the same time. Made for those who usually prefer to finish their foundation application with a dusting of loose powder. While the Brightening Cover Watery Cushion moisturises the skin with a narcissus bulb extract, gives skin a dewy finish and lightweight coverage. Available in five shades that brighten and even out the skin tone, $32 each. Buy from Mamonde Tangs VivoCity and Isetan Tampines.

Laneige Time Freeze Essence EX and Intensive Cream EX

When you’ve had a late night and have to wake early (and look alive), all you need is skincare that would plump up and smoothen the skin immediately before makeup application. Laneige’s Time Freeze Essence Ex (S$90) and Intensive Cream EX (S$95) seem to do just that. The Essence is a viscous serum which feels like a lightweight day moisturiser. Containing hyaluronic acid, it quickly adds a layer of satin smoothness and suppleness to the skin. Thus creating a perfect smooth base for foundation application. The Intensive Cream is best used on drier skin. The rich water-and-oil formula boosts the absorption rate, keeps skin moisturised for longer while smoothening the appearance of fine lines immediately. Good as a night cream as well. Add these to your bag of quick skincare-fixes for the Morning After.

Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Creamy Mask

Luxurious. Cocooning. Pampering.  No other way to describe this new double-layered Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Creamy Mask: Gore-Tex material (found on waterproof windbreakers) on the outside to seal in the goodness of the mask; and a soft and pulpy inner sheet that soaks up the serum while adhering comfortably to the skin. And this is not another drippy serum sheet mask; instead, it is slathered in a viscous white cream emulsion that contains eight times more anti-ageing ginseng extract than its bestselling Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream EX. The formula comprises of skin-stimulating saponin from ginseng root, and skin-energising ginseng flower extract. For the mask to better fit the contours of the face, it comes in two parts that are individually packed for the upper and lower half.  When all you want to do is shut down after a stressful day, just wrap your visage in this Creamy Mask, forget your woes, and turn off the lights.  Apply serum first, then flip the mask on for 20 minutes. It did not dry out even after I …

Laneige Ideal Shadow Quad and Blush Duo

Laneige has proven that while it may be a K Beauty brand that (like most Korean beauty exports) focuses more on its skincare options, it can hold its own with colour cosmetics too. The new Laneige Ideal Shadow Quad ($42 each) is now available in 10 palettes, from a risque red-themed quartet named No.10 Red Fox Fur, and pretty masala-hued No.7 Rosebay Garden to handy matte neutrals like No.6 Soft Powder. The powders are fine and smooth, easy to blend and layer with moderate pigment power; just the way most Asian women prefer it. The Laneige Ideal Blush Duo collection ($39 each) also features a cute peach and mint blush palette, literally named No.2 Peach Mint. The mint shade looks translucent on skin, brightens and mattifies. No.4 California Coral is a pretty peachy duo; while the No.6 Wood Blossom is perfect for subtle contouring (again, subtlety is always key for Laneige). Watch this clip for a closer look of TBG’s picks from the lot.

Laneige BB Cushion Crystal Edition with Xirius Swarovski Crystals

So many years ago, the Laneige BB Cushion was the first ever cushion I fell for. It was easy to use and so convenient for touch-ups on-the-go, and gave my skin a beautiful glow. Now, I’m falling for it all over again, especially when it is blinged-up with super sparkly Swarovski Crystals. Watch the video below and check it out yourself. Available in the Whitening and Pore Control versions, that offer light to medium coverage, a cooling sensation, and give skin a healthy glow. $59 each, and in three shades. Buy it from Laneige boutiques.

Laneige Fresh Calming Morning Mask

Once again, Laneige proves that it is ahead of the beauty game. The brand launched its best-selling Water Sleeping Mask in 2002, so women too busy living their lives can indulge in a fuss-free leave-on mask.  This summer, it launches its new Fresh Calming hydrating range, featuring a “Morning Mask”. More than just another mask with a catchy moniker, the Morning Mask is a first with its texture and formula. Dispensed through a pump can, it is a relatively viscous mousse emulsion that envelops skin in a cushiony gel. It sinks into skin with a few minutes of massaging.  I was really impressed with the texture. Besides the dense foamy facial wash of Japanese brands, I’ve never tried anything else quite like this Morning Mask. Moisturising and soothing, it is a multi-tasking all-day mask and moisturiser that prepares skin for makeup. I also tried using this as a night mask, and it worked just as fine. The next morning, my skin looked clearer, and matte; signs that show it is balanced. The Fresh Calming Morning …
