YSL Beauty Rouge Pur Couture The Mats

These new Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks by YSL Beaute are saturated in colour. Intensely pigmented in a coat or two, they have a perfectly matte finish, a texture that few solid lipsticks can provide. So if you have drier lips, best to exfoliate and apply balm before application. The Mats are also super long-wearing and leaves a strong lip stain behind. I applied the lipstick once in the morning and touched up once more after lunch. It remained perfectly in place for the rest of the day. There hasn’t been a haircare brand that’s quite as exciting as Ouai (pronounced wa-y) hitting Singapore shores in recent years. For one, celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin – responsible for the styled locks of model A-listers such as Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Karlie Kloss – definitely knows what women with 24/7 non-stop lifestyles and woke-up-like-this faces need to maintain their manes. Unlike these women, you’d probably not have Atkin on your speed-dial. But at least you can have Ouai products on your dresser. Here are the TBG picks: The Dry Shampoo Foam that amazingly doesn’t leave any powder residue on the hair. It goes on as a wet foam which disappears and cleans the hair and scalp as you massage it in. Works best on drier scalps. Great for use while travelling and reviving unwashed hair in a jiffy. Watch to see how it works. The Rose Hair & Body Oil is delicately-scented and a multi-tasker. Square Cushion: Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Touche Eclat Le Cushion

We’ve tried lots of compact cushions, but none like this Touche Eclat version. Not just because it is square in shape 🙌🏻 The formula is liquid, but it has a powdery velvety finish. It goes on super light, and gives skin a beautiful glow that is matte but not flat. Coverage is light to medium. Blending is easy. 😍 The applicator has a flocked surface, which makes me feel like I am patting on a loose or compact powder. This YSL Beaute square cushion is perfect for those who dislike the over-the-top dewiness of most cushion foundations. Wear this alone if you have few blemishes, or for touch-ups throughout the day if you prefer high coverage foundation. Watch a swatch here.

Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Encre De Peau All Hours foundation

Imagine being out from your morning latte run to cocktail hour, and not have to touch up your foundation and concealer. The new Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Encre De Peau All Hours formula offers just that. The liquid foundation gives medium to full coverage, a satin-matte finish, and long-lasting pigment that does not budge. A small dollop goes a long way. Best used with the signature Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow to prime and add hydration to the skin first, so the foundation goes on even more smoothly and is prevented from oxidising (turning one orange shade darker 😱). And they’re here. Tom Ford’s annual limited edition Lips & Boys extravaganza has been kicked up a notch with a collection of 50 Girls shades. Of course, they are inspired by his favourite girls such as Isamaya, Isla, Naomi and Scarlett. These shades are less pigmented than the ones in the Boys range. They are more sheer and translucent for everyday looks. Some can even be worn as a topper for a metallic sheen. Like the translucent Lily, sheer blue Isamaya, light purple Violet and bronze Amber; which lend the lips a luxurious finish. If you want shades that are brighter, go for the coral Isla, orange-red Scarlett, and bright red Naomi. These mini-sized lippies are always sold out quickly, because apart from the fab shades, the formula is moisturising, lustrous, and long-lasting. Estee Lauder got it right with this foundation. Offering medium coverage, the liquid glides on like melted butter with a satin-matte finish. I layered the Tom Ford Complexion Enhancing Primer underneath, and it stayed on like a dream. After an entire day shopping and a session at the gym, the foundation remained flawless. My pores, and dark circles were camouflaged, and the foundation did not settle into the fine lines under my eyes.  This product comes in a simple screw bottle. It can get a little messy if you are not careful, but  this also means you do not have wasted product stuck in a pump. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

To complement its serums and masks, Skin Inc has launched its own dual water-and-oil formula. To lock moisture into the skin and protect it, the Serum-Infused Night Oil (S$98) contains lavender essential oil, Japanese yuzu seed oil, olive oil, as well as Vitamins A, B12, C, E and amino acids. The oil is relatively thick and viscous; but with the hydrophilic serum, it smoothes nicely into the skin. Best used at night, cooler climes, or for those with drier skin.
