The long-awaited standalone Hourglass Cosmetics counter has finally launched with a flourish at the newly-revamped Tangs Orchard, in Singapore.

Fans of its minimalist, complexion-perfecting lit-from-within candle light glow products can now pick up Hourglass’ full range of products, including skincare and limited edition sets at Tangs.

These include the Confession Lipstick Collection (S$560), Lash Instrument makeup tool (S$122), as well as the Graphik Eyeshadow Palette (S$92).

Previously, Hourglass was only available in selected Sephora stores scattered around the island.

If you only have three minutes before getting out of the house…I recommend that you pick up the Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Light (S$76). This product was inspired by the Hourglass founder’s glamorous mom, who has pink light bulbs all around her house because it makes everyone look good. That’s the power of light which we try to capture with Hourglass products. This Mood Light is lavender in colour and cuts out the sallowness in the skin. Brush it all over the face, and you are good-to-go.

I cannot do a makeover without…the Veil Mineral Primer, a global bestseller where one is sold every minute. It is great for all skin types. It evens out the skin tone and brightens, while getting makeup to last all day as it is humidity-proof. I also like to use it to clean up errors – on the eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick – and it does not smudge the rest of the makeup. When I need to brighten up certain areas on the face, I also like to use a concealer brush to dab it on – under eyes, sides of nose, etc.

If you want your skin to glow like you have just stepped out of a sauna…get the Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint. This lightweight foundation lifts, plumps and tightens with peptides and hyaluron. It can be used as a concealer too, and is great for those who do not like heavy makeup. Then add the Ambient Lighting Palette (S$102). Mix the three shades together to add warmth, light, and dimension onto the skin. It can be used to contour and highlight, as well as set the makeup. It gives the skin a soft finish, like an Instagram filter.

I cannot do without the … Lip Oil Treatment. The applicator is luxuriously plated in gold, and the formula contains plant lipids, essential oils and three kinds of active peptides. These help with volume and shape, deep hydration and have an anti-wrinkle effect. Use it twice a day to replenish the lip’s moisture. Put it on top of lipsticks to add extra gloss and shine, it does not mess up the colour. I always have this in my makeup pouch.
